Mrs. Marilyn Willoughby Lee, age 84

Galivants Ferry……Mrs. Marilyn Willoughby Lee, age 84, wife of the late William Coolidge Lee Sr., of Golden Leaf Road, passed away July 4, 2012 at Waccamaw Community Hospital surrounded by her family.


Mrs. Lee was born March 14, 1928 in Mullins. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Alma Blackmon Willoughby. She was predeceased by two brothers Joe Willoughby, Sherwood Willoughby and Burnice Willoughby, three sisters Virgie Floyd, Ethel Stephens and Louteal Sarvis. Mrs. Lee loved her church, the bible, her family and was a great prayer warrior. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.


Mrs. Lee also loved cooking for everyone and will be missed by all. She was a member of Happy Home Baptist Church where she was active with the WMU, choir, past director of vacation bible school, and assistant piano player.  Surviving Mrs. Lee are one son, William Coolidge Lee Jr. and his wife Terry of Galivants Ferry, four daughters, Darnelle Maher and her husband Patrick of Dana Point, California, Muriel Roberts and her husband Glenny of Galivants Ferry, Priscilla Adams and her husband Richard Duffany of Conway, Myra Allen and her husband Darrell Levon Allen of Sumter, two brothers, Jimmy Willoughby of Nichols, Lester Willoughby of Lake View, three sisters, Earlene Gerald of Lumberton, N.C., Doris Elliott of Nichols, Judy Martin of Charleston, seven grandchildren, Scott Roberts, Eric Roberts, Patrick Maher, Darlene Maher, Kelly Lee, Jason Adams, Aaron Lee, and eight great - grandchildren.


The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Happy Home Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, July 6, 2012 at Happy Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Willoughby and Rev. Marty Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
